About Coach Frankee

Hi,

I’m Coach Frankee - welcome to my page. I started this business once I realized that so many people needed coaching in their day to day lives, but not enough people had the resources necessary to get that help. I often hear about the lack of availability, the long wait lists, the expensive prices, etc. when it comes to mental health resources. 

That’s where I come in! 

I started working with children when I was 12 years old. I started working as a babysitter, then a nanny, then a family helper, etc. until I graduated with my bachelor’s degree. Once I graduated, I started working in finance and left my passion for working with families behind until the pandemic hit.

Like so many of us, I found myself isolated and in need of human connection. I was worried about my mental, physical and emotional health, as well as the health of those that surrounded me. I began volunteering for a crisis prevention hotline, and that’s when my change in career began.

I went back to school and spent the next few years learning about mental health. I started with a Certificate in Psychology. Then I went on to complete a Master’s degree in Mental Health. I read books and participated in multiple discussion panels on the subject - mental health became my passion. 

I began my new career as a “Caregiver counselor” at an organization called “l’Appui”. Because of my passion for working with children and teenagers, I transitioned to l’APED (an association for children and parents with difficulties). At l’APED, I was able to develop a strong skill set in mental health intervention through a program called “Coup de pouce”. This program offered 10 meetings to children and families that were on the waitlist for mental health services (Jeunes en difficulté and Santé Mentale Jeunesse) with the CLSC . I worked with children from the ages of 5 - 21, and their families. Those children had an array of diagnostics such as ADHD, Autism, Depression, Anxiety, etc. 

My love for working with teenagers has led me towards working in a high school, where I have been ever since. I work in a program called “Phénix”. This program specializes in teenagers with mental health difficulties and diagnostics such as ADHD, PTSD, attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, oppositional disorder, etc. I love my job and the flexibility that it offers me. Here, I am able to fuse my creativity with my interventions, and have had a visibly positive impact on the behavior of my students. 

My hope is to continue to give back to my community as a life coach with lots of experience in the mental health department.
